WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Summer Coach , you will serve College Possible students in various roles from high school to college. This is a rewarding two months opportunity beginning in July, 2023. YOUR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES High School Role: Support high school seniors through high school graduation and the summer transition period to ensure fall college enrollment. Connect with students through text messaging, phone calls, and video meetings. Maintain and update student records to track enrollment progress. Help connect with unengaged College Possible students to better determine future college and career goals. College Persistence role: Support college students to persist from spring to fall semester. Connect with students through mass message campaigns, office, hours, and one-on-one coaching to support continuous enrollment. Communicate with prospective graduates regarding graduation requirements. Additionally, support unenrolled students interested in re-enrolling for fall semester. Essential Functions: Communicate with program participants, College Possible members and staff in person and via email, phone, and other technology tools Track and record program participants information using Salesforce and Microsoft excel Work individually with students Participate in weekly meetings and group planning sessions/trainings Research colleges/universities to provide supplemental resources for student enrollment Marginal Functions: Help with other organizational tasks as requested; i.e. working with the media, leading trainings for other AmeriCorps members, etc. COLLEGE POSSIBLE BENEFIT Medical, Vision, Dental Insurance Employee Assistance Program Bi-weekly living stipend of $920.73 AMERICORPS AND OTHER FEDERALLY ISSUED BENEFITS Segal AmeriCorps Education Award of $1,374.60 can be used to repay federal loans or pay for future education expenses Childcare benefits paid by AmeriCorps Loan forbearance and interest accrual payments for qualified student loans Time accrual toward the U.S. Department of Education's Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program Income-based Loan Repayment Plan ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS College Possible AmeriCorps Coaches are as diverse as the communities we serve. We're looking for you if you want to build yourself, give back and ready to make a difference. Applicants must have obtained a Bachelor's degree by the time of service. Ideal applicants possess a sincere interest in empowering youth and a passion for higher education. Applicants should possess strong interpersonal, organizational, and research skills to assist College Possible with providing college success services to students. Applicants of all academic majors are welcome to apply. Once hired, individuals will receive extensive training and ongoing support from full-time College Possible program staff. This is a two month commitment from July 10th to September 1st. College Possible is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
