Job Title : Human Resources Generalist Location : Huntsville, AL Canvas, Inc. provides services to a diverse group of customers in the areas of Test and Evaluation, Engineering Services, Program & Acquisition Management, and Product Integration. We are currently seeking a full-time Human Resources Generalist. Job Description: The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a team environment and making positive changes to the lives of employees at Canvas, Inc. The HR Generalist will partner with managers and employees to provide HR support and solutions within a high-tech environment and will report to the Senior HR and Compliance Manager. Required Experience & Skills: Minimum one year of human resources experience. Support workforce at large by providing for manager and employee needs using operational and organizational resources. Facilitates onboarding activities including orientation, I-9, E-Verify, employee file creation, and timekeeping training for all new hires. Facilitate offboarding activities. Tracks and administers our tuition reimbursement program. Assists with annual events such as external annual reporting, performance reviews, engagement activities and awards. Maintains employee data in various filing systems and using organizational tools. Ensure equity, fair treatment, and positive employee relations by coaching, counseling, and guiding employees. Cross-training with benefits administration Work with HR Team Members to develop process improvements for critical policies and practices. Performs other duties as assigned. Education and Skills: Experience within Microsoft Office Suite, Costpoint People Module, and Deltek are a plus. Excellent communications (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, Excellent time-management skills with proven ability to prioritize complex issues and meet deadlines. Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Demonstrate ability to work with minimal supervision on projects and initiatives in required time frames. Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. Detail oriented with demonstrated project management and analytical skills. Minimum of a bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, labor relations or a related field Desired Education: Prefer PHR or SHRM-CP certification. HR Generalist certification Knowledge of State and Federal laws and regulations pertaining to employment Knowledge of HRIS software a plus Required Security Leve l: Must have or able to obtain a secret clearance.
