Senior Rehabilitation Engineer

Description:
This position will focus on developing and maintaining novel technologies for rehabilitation and human performance optimization. Specifically, this role will be responsible for driving development of a portfolio of software applications that includes serious games, virtual/augmented reality, camera-based motion capture, and integration of wearable sensors. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of clinical rehabilitation coupled with the ability to manage a team of engineers and developers working on complex software applications. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team that is dedicated to translating cutting edge science from the laboratory into real-world applications that have a positive impact on human health and performance. Basic Qualifications: • Advanced Degree (Master's or PhD) in Biomedical/Medical Engineering, Kinesiology, Mechanical Engineering, Physical Therapy, or similar with a focus on rehabilitation engineering.• Hands-on experience with development, maintenance, or support/training for software applications in biomechanics, rehabilitation, or human performance.• Ability to manage diverse teams of engineers and developers working on complex software applications.• In-depth knowledge and understanding of human biomechanics and human movement.• Basic understanding of human physiology.• Strong writing skills (scientific publications, proposal writing, and reports). Other Qualifications: • Demonstrated experience developing scientific software or engineering tools. • Experience with projects involving gaming engines (e.g., Unity3D, Unreal).• Experience with mobile applications (e.g., Android).• Experience with virtual or augmented reality applications for rehabilitation.• Experience with physiology sensors (e.g., heart rate, pulse oximeter).• Experience integrating data from motion capture systems (e.g., Vicon, Xsens). • Experience with camera-based motion capture.
