Description:

Assist management in providing safe, decent, and sanitary homes and reducing the number of evictions by providing services that prevent damages to NAHA units due to poor housekeeping as well as to check units for safe living conditions. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Notify and inspect all NAHA units. Inspector may also be asked to do vacant unit inspections for the purpose of making a work order to outline the repairs needed to make the unit ready to rent. Provide notice of need to cure deficiencies in housekeeping using NAHA protocol. Provide all managers with results of inspections and follow-up visits. Notify managers and maintenance of any damages or need for repair to units. Develop and follow a schedule for annual housekeeping inspections. Work with managers to provide appropriate documentation of non-compliance with the program. Be prepared to testify in court as needed. Update and maintain the NAHA move in manual. Be familiar with all NAHA procedures and policies regarding occupancy. Maintain inspection schedules, provide appropriate notices of inspections to both tenant and manager. Maintain detailed documentation of inspection results including photographs as needed. Utilize NAHA electronic inspection and work order system. Use tools to make light repairs such as replacing a Smoke Alarm or changing an outlet cover. Be able to work alone and enter occupied or vacant units alone if needed. Identify different types of pest control problems and investigate the source of entry or cause if needed. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. COMPUTER SKILLS Experienced with MS Office products CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Current Driver's License and ability to be and remain insurable under fleet vehicle insurance Other Skills and Abilities Must be skilled in multitasking.
