*Please note: This position is a Temporary-Full Time position, approx. 5 month assignment To perform a variety of administrative tasks and projects, related to the SNAP Outreach program, including outreach and client intake for individuals who are potentially eligible to receive SNAP benefits. To assist in tracking and maintaining a data relating to SNAP outreach. To comply with company code of ethics, confidentiality practices, HIPAA, safety and all other policies & procedures. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Complete general administrative tasks, which include but may not be limited to: forms processing, data entry, photocopying, word processing, and filing. Assist, research, and follow-up on clients and community partners with questions, concerns, and comments. Conduct pre-screenings and client intake for individuals interested in applying for SNAP benefits. Works collaboratively with the Program Manager in responding to requests for information and referrals regarding the SNAP Outreach program. Review income and expense information submitted with applications for SNAP assistance and provide referrals to other community agencies if required. Assist in maintaining records for the SNAP Outreach program including detailed client contact logs, data entry, and in intake racking spreadsheet for the status of current and pending SNAP applications. Maintaining SNAP inquiry hotline: properly directing phone inquiries and assist in troubleshooting client issues. Assist in maintaining regular contact with the Department of Human Services (DHS) for the purpose of assisting clients with frequently encountered issues, such as benefit status inquiries, biannual review submissions, and annual eligibility review submissions. Assist in conducting regular client follow-ups, maintaining an up-to-date tracking of client's benefits status. Maintains good relationships and work collaboratively with the Department of Human Services (DHS) staff and other service providers. Assist Program Manager and Outreach Specialists in facilitating the application process, i.e. couriering application, or supplemental documents to DHS on client's behalf, and following up on application status. Be knowledgeable about other public benefits that SNAP applicants may be eligible for and be able to share that information while assisting consumers and community members during intake process or over the phone. Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of customer service related experience, preferably in the Human Services environment. Extensive working knowledge of computer programs including but not limited to Microsoft Word and Excel, Power Point and other database operational software. Ability to work directly and collaboratively with diverse persons and programs found in a multi-faceted agency and community. Ability to organize, direct, review and evaluate activities and volunteers. Effective communication skills (listening, speaking and writing) with proven ability to take and relay detailed and accurate information. Detailed oriented and ability to multi-task. Valid Driver's license, clear traffic abstract and willingness to use properly insured vehicle. Preferred Qualifications: BA in social sciences and/or related field preferred.
