Amity Die and Stamping is seeking an individual with experience working in a manufacturing plant and/or experience with precision metal forming. We have availability on 1st Shift with minimum of 40-45 hours per week. This position reports directly to the Quality Manager. The quality assurance inspector assures the consistent quality of production by developing and enforcing manufacturing practices and systems, validating processes, and providing necessary documentation to ensure quality excellence. In this role the inspector will strive to achieve Quality Assurance operational objectives by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews, preparing and completing action plans, implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards, identifying and resolving problems, completing audits, determining system improvements as well as implementing change. While performing the duties of this job, the Inspector must be able to stand for long periods of time, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach with hands and arms, use of fingers, handle or feel. Hearing and vision within normal ranges is important for normal conversations, to receive ordinary or vital information and to prepare and inspect documents. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: The Quality Inspector will perform the described quality activities throughout the manufacturing plant as necessary and on a daily basis. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Inspection of incoming and outgoing products and materials to engineering specifications using basic test and measuring equipment Perform visual and dimensional inspection of purchased parts, tight tolerance machined and manufactured parts, components, assemblies and materials using calibrated standards and equipment. Perform first article inspection (FAI) on new and revised components. Generate, distribute and file inspection reports as required. Document non-conforming product when detected. Attach Red Tag and Red HC tags to the non-conforming product. Learn & work in critical modules in QMS database. Complete and maintain all documentation per customer and/or internal requirements. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Ability to work with hand held gauges, such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pin gauges, etc. CMM and/or Vision measuring system (Micro-Vu) (InSpec Metrology Software) Program/Operate Keyence IM -7000 series Digital Inspection. Location: 13870 West Polo Trail Drive Lake Forest, IL 60045 Qualifications Required Knowledge: 2+ Years of experience performing close tolerance mechanical inspections Experience with Metal Stamping and/or Fabrication (Forming, Welding and Assembly Processes) Knowledge of ISO 9001 (*Knowledge of IATF16949 would be a bonus) Strong Math Skills Strong oral and written communication skills; bilingual Spanish is a plus. Ability to read blueprints Strong Computer Literacy (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook) CMM experience is plus Dependable and punctual.
