Hi-Line Co-op is seeking a dedicated, full-timeTire Technician for the Sutherland Tire and Auto Location.Full time Service Station Employee Requirements SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: No supervisory responsibilities with this job PERFORMANCE MEASURES: To perform this job successfully and individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience: o 3 years of tire and auto service experience o Background in tires, batteries and accessories Required Knowledge: o Correctly and safely use shop equipment o Attend to customer service Language Skills: o Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals o Write routine reports and correspondence o Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization Mathematical Skills: o Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume o Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry Reasoning Ability: o Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists o Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: o Current Drivers License. o Fork lift driver’s certificate PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Finger Dexterity: Using primarily the fingers in making motions to make station tickets, turn on fuel pumps, repair tires, change oil and other repair jobs on vehicles Talking: One must frequently convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately and quickly Average Hearing: Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information Repetitive Motions: Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hand and/or fingers Average Visual Abilities: Average, ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery Physical Strength: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must be able to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to use hand to finger, handle or feel; to reach with hands, and arms; and taste and smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Additional Information ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES: Include the following and others may be assigned o Station Sales and Service • Available for after hour calls and emergency service • Promote our Petroleum and Station Division • Responsible for all sales tickets to be properly priced and billed • Be aware of the current retail market and notify management of the current business climate • Inventory Management-counting, pricing and general inventory knowledge • Minimize shrink and shortage • Continue to learn and keep abreast of current laws affecting tire service and auto parts installation • Promote new marketing ideas related to our Petroleum Division o Responsible for the image and conditions of the Station • Maintain a clean environment at all times o At all times, keep safety of the employee and customer as a priority • Monitor safety standards for the station warehouse, equipment, and postings required • Utilize the safety tools provided to minimize risk o Attentive to Customer Service satisfaction with tire and auto service needs • Greet people in a friendly and professional manner o Promote leadership and support the Petroleum Division Standards • Fill in at other service centers when needed • Be to work on time and work the scheduled hours • Assist other divisions to achieve the Cooperative’s financial and customer satisfaction goals, be a team player o Notify the Station/C-Store Manager of any customer complaint or compliance issue o Cooperate fully with the main business office to maintain accurate information for our customer base In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, it is possible that requirements may be modified to reasonably accommodate disabled individuals.
