Service Care Solutions are looking for an Evidence Management Officer to work within the Merseyside Police on a 12-month contract. Location: Merseyside Job role/responsibilities: To provide an Evidence Management function including inventory control and disposal of evidence and property. This includes the review, retention, storage, and disposal of items including cash, drugs and firearms. Use Niche and bar coding for recording, auditing, moving, reviewing, and storing crime exhibits, ensuring evidential integrity for prosecutions, including high-value items. Travel to any force location to move evidence, updating locations in Niche for a full audit trail, ensuring security and integrity during transit for evidential continuity. Review evidence based on officer input, applying knowledge of policies, legislation, and professional practice to decide on retention, return, or disposal. Follow appropriate routes, complying with EMU, Health, and Safety, ensuring evidence store capacity. Retrieve, quality assure, risk backss, and prepare forensic submissions for transfer to a Forensic Service Provider or Forensic Submissions Department. Receive returns, conduct administrative processes, check-in on Niche, ensuring adherence to protocols, ISO Accreditation 17025, and support for prosecution. Receive, retrieve, and store evidence, adhering to Health and Safety and warehouse protocols, using equipment for efficiency and safety. Understand evidence management performance, exhibit/found property processes, legislation, force policies, and procedures. Provide information internally and externally for effective evidence management service. Provide statements for case continuity, attend court if required, supporting the prosecution process for justice. Undertake responsibilities related to information management, data quality,.
