The anticipated start date will be July-December 2024, or one which is mutually agreed upon. The successful candidate will provide anesthetic care throughout the hospital programs including supervision and teaching of students, residents, and fellows. On-call services will be provided in rotation. Participation in formal in-house and University teaching programs, as well as hospital administrative duties, will be expected. Academic opportunities for research and teaching are available. Academic time is assigned according to an objective backssment of requirements. The incumbent will have major clinical responsibilities and in addition to their own academic activities, will facilitate the research, teaching, and education by others. Teaching may be done concurrently with clinical care and/or in organized educational programs. Strategic needs currently include, among others, cardiovascular anesthesia and cardiovascular critical care, interventional pain, obstetric anesthesia, and educational leadership. St. Michael’s Hospital is part of Unity Health Toronto, which includes Providence, St. Joseph’s, and St. Michael’s. St. Michael’s is one of Canada’s leading Academic Health Sciences Centre and is fully affiliated with the University of Toronto.
