The Staff Production Engineer; will be responsible for leading a group of Engineers to perform DFMA review, analysis and review final report. The Staff Production Engineer will also be reviewing the new and existing product design from raw material, PCBA, mechanical, electronic and system integration to ensure not only the Supermicro products meets the industrial and company quality standard but also the best optimization. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is ready to work beyond boundaries and capable of doing what it takes to meet the goals. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Review and improve the current DFMA process • Reviewing and facilitating the early-stage product design reviews, working with all cross functional teams at all levels to make the manufacturing and assembly process more robust, less cost and more smoothness in mass production manufacturing environment to meet high customer demands • Perform hardware system/board/component debug/analysis/trouble shooting and related tasks • Work closely with design teams to review and improve product design Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned): • Transport, disassemble, re-assemble, diagnose and analyze the products for correction, enhancement and improvement • Search for MRP, BOM, ECO/ECN, part specs, design documents, assembly instructions, test reports, production assembly record, quality data, RMA data, ISO documents, industrial standards, etc. • Assign team members to take product photos, generate formal DFMA report and post finding items on intranet • Ensure all DFMA record in system and follow up findings with other related teams for solution and closure, work with IT to optimize DFMA database • Review/Generate 8D report, deep understanding of root cause analysis and tools used such as fish bone diagram, Pareto chart, 5 whys, FMEA Qualifications: • BS in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or Engineering or Electrical Engineering; MS degree is preferred • Minimum 12+ years of relevant work experiences with manufacturing and quality on PCBA and system level assembly in computing industry (storage, server and cloud) • Influent with MS Office Excel, Word, and PowerPoint • Knowledge of PCB/PCBA, Allegro, Valor is desirable • Established capability in reducing defects and improving process such as 6 Sigma, SPC and DOE • Excellent communication skills within cross functional teams with varying levels of technical expertise • Contract manufacturing experience, additional certificates and licenses are considered a plus • Active/proactive learner aligns to the latest new technology Salary Range $163,000 -$181,000 The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
