WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR We are looking for an attorney who is in alignment with our values of integrity, compassion, efficiency, and tenacity to work 10-15 hours per week, with the ability to become full time. If you’re a driven, highly motivated, go-getting attorney with less than 5 years of experience who is looking to expand your courtroom experience AND you’re responsible, open to learning, plus you get along well with others, you may be the perfect fit as we continue to grow. QUALIFICATIONS You possess proficient negotiation skills so that both sides feel like they are getting what they want. Remain calm in stressful situations Well versed in relevant law Criminal defense experience preferred Ability to make in person court appearances in San Francisco, Alameda and Contra Costa Counties weekly Excellent written and verbal skills High level of proficiency in MS Office, G-Suite, and Mac OS We are a small team that works 100% remotely. If you choose to work from home, you must have a space where you can work privately and with strong internet connection. Office space is available if needed. There is flexibility with hours worked. Our team meets virtually Tuesdays at 11am and 2pm and Thursdays at 11am for huddles and calendar meetings, and monthly for team meetings. RESPONSIBILITIES Remote and in-person court appearances and hearings (60% -75% of time) Updating clients Reviewing police reports with clients Reviewing discovery and identifying what evidence to subpoena Legal research and drafting motions Collaborating with paralegals to progress cases. Sick Accrual Reimbursement for mileage and approved expenses COMPENSATION This position is initially part time with the ability to become full time. Compensation is $30-$50 per hour with room for growth. All offers are contingent on the successful completion of pre-employment background checks.
