Version française ci-dessous Job Title: Operations Manager, Central Status: Full-time Permanent Position Expected Start Date: As soon as possible Location: Logistics Office – 1221 Farewell Street, Oshawa, ON L1H 6N8 Reporting to: Trucking Manager, Central Position Summary Mc Asphalt’s successful business model for several decades has relied upon high performance truck transportation services for delivery of our Asphalt and Emulsion products to customers and raw materials to our production plants across Ontario, Canada. Trucking is in our DNA and core to our culture of service excellence. The Operations Manager is responsible and accountable for the general management and optimal deployment of tractor and tank trailer assets within Mc Asphalt’s fleet in Central Canada. The incumbent will also be responsible for safely servicing the logistics needs of our production plants and customers across Ontario, Canada. The Operations Manager, Central will manage the Central Dispatch team and Central Drivers to ensure trucking transportation services are safe, reliable, efficient, and profitable. Main Duties and Responsibilities Directly supervises day-to-day work of dispatchers and drivers while directing activities related to the dispatch, routing, and location of the Central fleet. Oversees the vehicle maintenance plan and coordinates with the Maintenance Department to ensure fleet availability to meet service needs. Drive profitability through strategic cost management, and new business development. Monitor operations to ensure staff members comply with administrative policies and procedures, security rules, and government regulations. Assist Safety Department to ensure investigations are carried out in cooperation with government agencies to determine the causes of transport accidents and to improve safety procedures.
