Southland Holdings is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our fast-growing team. We are looking for someone with extensive transportation, txdot, heavy highway, roadway, underground construction experience. We combine the strengths of five infrastructure construction companies that share a dedication to building critical infrastructure projects which improve the environment and the lives of those around us.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Ensure a "Safety First" attitude throughout the project from all levels of management and operations Develop and maintain a working relationship with the owner or the owner's representative Read, understand, and plan according to the work specifications and contract responsibilities Anticipate project conflicts, communicate preventative action plans, and implement solutions to avoid issues Understand and plan work according to project plans, change orders, shop drawings, subcontracts, purchase orders, and monthly pay estimates Create, update, review, and maintain budget for project. Generate solutions to stay on time and on budget Monitor the cost of Equipment on the project and implement strategies to stay within budget Schedule the project in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines In P6 CPM Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill Oversee daily field activities leading to optimal progression of project with Superintendents Present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public Serves as customer liaison Manages change orders, budget schedule, claims, safety, staff, etc. Has overall responsibility for entire project or projects Requirements: Must have Project Manager experience on large civil projects - TXDOT, underground utilities, Heavy Highway, Roadway, Bridge work 4+ years’ experience on heavy civil projects in Transportation Knowledge of related construction materials, tools, and machines Knowledge of construction material costs and wages Familiarity with construction scheduling and estimating software Ability to manage a staff of 100 combined field and office personnel. General knowledge EPA and OSHA regulations involving construction. Must be physically capable of navigating rugged terrain with or without accommodation for the purpose of performing the duties outlined above. Professional Engineering License (preferred).
