Summary Of Specialized Commodities Sales Representative Responsibilities : Promotes the profitability of Southern Pines Trucking, Inc.'s specialized oversize commodities operations through the expansion of specialized commodities sales to new and existing customers. Provides customer support through rate quotes, equipment selection, coordinating and communicating load details, transport schedules, credit, billing processes, collections and account set up. Obtain all applicable information from shippers for potential opportunities in order to work hand in hand with President/Owners to provide detailed quotes based upon lanes, dimensions equipment availability and current workload/schedule. How YOU Will Make an Impact Enhance existing knowledge of basic oversize overweight permitting and general trucking by studying, researching and monitoring fleet equipment, permit and escort requirements, route availability, primary route restrictions, fuel prices and market pricing. Work hand in hand with other estimators and operations to determine equipment availability and strategies to base quotes upon. Aggressively search, research and pursue potential specialized commodity customer leads. Establishes and maintains positive relationships with current, as well as potential, customers to ensure the continued success of the Company's overall marketing strategies. Research and estimate transportation costs and estimated transit times, per specific dimensions and criteria, to generate accurate rate quotes for customers. Proactively engage passive specialized commodity shippers through various means including, but not limited to, cold calling and project follow up. Support the development of expanded and/or new geographical markets and business ventures. Coordinates sales efforts with management and operations department to ensure that customers pursued by Southern Pines Trucking, Inc. will appropriately match the Company's need to maintain and promote profitability. Meets with customers on an as needed basis to discuss their business requirements and to subsequently determine how Southern Pines Trucking Inc. can most effectively meet these needs. Interacts with Company management in an open and cooperative manner. Communicate work plans and other information to contribute to overall Company success. Monitors changes in customer contracts or traffic websites, researches and understands all new customers' RFQ procedures and load tendering systems; additionally, communicates knowledge of these and other customer systems to the appropriate departments. Travel as required to support customers and sales initiatives. Ensures that all activity in area of responsibility is conducted in accordance with the Company's safety program and all related procedures and practices. Positively represent Southern Pines Trucking internally and externally. Compensation and Benefits: Industry leading pay based on experience and certifications.
