Skilled Trades VI - HVAC Full Time Monday-Friday 8 am-4:30 pmThe successful candidate will become part of a skilled trade's team responsible for campus-wide facilities - operations and maintenance activities. This individual will be called upon to perform a variety of tasks associated with maintaining building HVAC, and mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems.Minimum Qualification: * High school graduation or an equivalent combination of education and experience. * City of Detroit unlimited refrigeration journeyman's license or equivalent journeyman's card through Union Local 636, and proof of six years of continuing job related experience dealing specifically with large heating/ventilation/air conditioning systems. * In the absence of above credentials, individual may possess a State of Michigan mechanical contractor's license. * Demonstrated working knowledge of cooling towers, pumps, chilled water coils, centrifugal chillers, absorption chillers, heating systems and their distributions. * Experience and working knowledge of DDC building controls. * Preferably experience with Honeywell and Automated Logic building control systems. * Certified in refrigerant recovery. * Candidate must also possess a working knowledge of other trades including electrical and plumbing installations and have ability to perform repairs on these systems. * Ability to interpret building schematics related to large building systems. * Ability to repair equipment in a professional manner. * Ability to work without supervision. * Valid Michigan vehicle operator's license and a driving record acceptable to the university.
