To learn more about Union Settlement, visit www.unionsettlement.org Position: Family Service Supervisor Department: Early Childhood Education Reports to: Associate Director of Social Services Hours: Full-time (35 hours weekly) Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 FLSA: Non-Exempt Location: On-sitePosition Summary:The Family Services Supervisor is responsible for supervising Family Service staff in the provision of family support and engagement services. This position supervises the implementation of the program’s Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment, and Attendance (ERSEA) policies and procedures in accordance with Head Start Program Performance Standards. Under the supervision of the Associate Director for Social Services, this position leads the program’s family engagement through parent committees and supports the implementation of the Delegate Agency Policy Committee (DAPC). This position ensures the provision of services to families to support them in meeting their family goals through direct services and referrals. Responsibilities : Design, implement, and supervise the provision of family engagement services to engage families in their children’s learning and development and support parent-child relationships, including specific strategies for father engagement Support, coach, and supervise staff in developing relationships with families by providing services that promote trust and respect and that support positive child and family outcomes Ensure ongoing two-way communication between staff and families to create welcoming program environments that incorporate the unique cultural, ethnic, and linguistic backgrounds of families in the program and community Support, coach, and supervise family service staff in the development of collaborative relationships with families through a family partnership process that identifies needs, interests, strengths, goals, and services and resources that support family well-being, including family safety, health, and economic stability Support the implementation and supervision of research-based parenting curricula that build on parents’ knowledge and offer parents the opportunity to practice parenting skills to promote children’s learning and development. Supports the implementation of the program’s Delegate Agency Policy Council in collaboration with the Program Director and the Associate Director for Social Services Collaborate with other senior staff in offering opportunities for parents and family members to be involved in the program’s education services. Collaborate with the management team in implementing annual program self-assessments, staff evaluations, professional development, and monitoring compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards and Article 47 regulations. Develop, maintain, track, and report key performance indicators and data to ensure compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards Ensure that family service staff is maintain updated information in the database system and provides regular reports and updates Obtain required training to maintain compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards and Article 47 Additional duties as assigned by the ECE Program Director or Associate Director of Social Services Qualifications: Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, mental health, or related field preferred. BA in SW, psychology, counseling, or related field with at least three to five years of experience in an educational, clinical, or community setting serving families with young children. At least three years of experience supervising, coaching, or mentoring staff, graduate or undergraduate students, or volunteers Multilingual English/Spanish/Chinese preferred Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills Knowledge and experience of principles of family support and case management Knowledge of East Harlem community strongly preferred.
