The VCSA works collaboratively with college leadership to create aculture that promotes student success, provides a safe and welcoming campus environment for students, and fosters a sense of community among students. The VCSA is specifically responsible for the overall leadership, administration, and management of the Division of Student Affairs. These responsibilities include oversight of recruiting, admissions, registration, financial aid, student success, student engagement, Title IX, veterans services, and counseling.The VCSA is expected to be an enterprise-wide thinker who collaborates with other senior leaders in supporting college change management initiatives. Additionally, the VCSA is responsible for developing Student Affairs strategic plan, assuring alignment with the college and its entities, and developing and implementing Student Affairs policies and procedures.Duties and Responsibilities Provide leadership, operational direction and coordination for Student Affairs division including oversight of recruiting, admissions, registration, financial aid, student success, student engagement, Title IX, veterans services, and counseling. Evaluate and assess organizational needs through process analysis and collaboration with the Executive Vice Chancellor for Institutional and Student Success. Work collaboratively with the college system to promote enrollment management as a comprehensive, integrated approach focused on enhancing and improving recruitment, retention, and graduation rates. Establish and assess long- and short-term goals for the Student Affairs division, in alignment with the colleges strategic plan and in collaboration with the executive team. Ensure student-centered, data-informed strategies and processes are in place throughout the Student Affairs division to serve students proactively and holistically in reaching their educational goals. Leverage internal and external partnerships to enhance student retention, engagement, and enrollment. Implement, evaluate, and ensure compliance with college policies and state and federal laws related to Student Affairs. Work with the Dean of Students on matters involving student issues and discipline. Collaborate with the Title IX Coordinator, as needed, on Title IX claims involving students. Develop and administer the Student Affairs budget, including forecasting, integrated planning, and monitoring of expenditures. Oversee management and performance of grants assigned to various Student Affairs departments. Assume leadership role through supervision of various positions within Student Affairs department. Manage daily performance of staff, and assume responsibility for performance management evaluations. Exhibit exemplary attendance and punctuality. Comply with college policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned, including attending college functions, serving on committees and attending community events.Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Masters degree in a related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning. Five years of senior level experience in student affairs and/or higher education. One year of Title IX experience. Ability to work well with others. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to use information technology for professional productivity (such as Microsoft Office Suite). Experience working in a collegiate setting.Preferred Knowledge Skills & Abilities Doctorate in a related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning. Seven years of senior level experience in enrollment management and/or student affairs. Four years of experience working with Title IX activities and policies.
