About Charlestown State Park: Charlestown State Park is a largely undeveloped, 15,000:acre area in southern Indiana that served as the site of the Indiana Army Ammunition Plant and Rose Island Theme Park. The park has scenic vistas of the Fourteen Mile Creek Valley and the Ohio River, with elevation changes of over 200 feet. While hiking the rugged terrain you will see Devonian fossil outcrops and areas of karst sinkhole topography. Bird watchers enjoy the 72 species of birds, including bluebirds, black vultures, and an occasional bald eagle. Role Overview: The Laborer performs a wide variety of routine tasks to assist in the maintenance of facilities, equipment, roads, and grounds. This position will be completing mainly housekeeping duties, which will include, but are not limited to: :Cleaning and maintaining all property and staff restrooms, vault/pit toilets, gatehouses, property office spaces, and the Falls of the Ohio Interpretive Center facility.:Collecting trash and maintaining all property trails, trailheads,roads, roadsides, parking areas,boat ramps, and riverbanks.:Creating and implementing a routine cleaning and maintenance schedule ofall facilities.:Supervising intermittent cleaning staff/crews at both Charlestown and Falls of the Ohio StateParks.:Tracking allhousekeeping materials and cleaning products and reporting cleaning and material needs to the property supervisors to ensure that neither property goes without cleaning products or materials needed. This position will be assigned to Charlestown State Park, but this position will be asked to travel between Charlestown and Falls of the Ohio State Parks to complete housekeeping tasks on a daily basis.This position will be required to work some weekends Salary Statement: The salary for this position traditionally starts at31,668.00but may be commensurate with education or work experience. A Day in the Life: The essential functions of this role are as follows: : Serveas a general maintenance person to inspect and maintain all facilities, grounds, and equipment.: Performroutine carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs.: Ensureall employees are properly trained to operate equipment and are properly educated to follow established safety policies and procedures.: Direct, assist, and supportrecreational special events as needed.: Assistwith purchasing and inventory of incoming supplies, materials, and repair parts.: Responsible for major and minor equipment, vehicle, and vessel repairs.: Maintaingrounds which may include mowing, weeding, aerating, spraying, fertilizing, and tree trimming or removal.: Responsible for maintaining all roads such as painting, snow plowing, sanding, and salting, repaving, or repairing.: Responsible for providing public safety on property, provide assistance in an emergency, or aid in rescue of accident victims.: Assistlaw enforcement with investigation of illegal activities on properties.:May assist and perform wildlife resource ma
